Rehearsals for FIVE WOMEN began in late June of 2024. With a suitcase full of PIANO/VOCAL charts for the cast and crew, we left JFK and headed over to Jersey City. Sadly, I only had a few days of vocal rehearsals with the cast before I had to return home to Los Angeles for work but they were brilliant days. Then our incredible director, Alexandra Silber, and fab music director, Andy Collopy, took over and the magic commenced. Soon we'd be filming at Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken.
Under a very helpful Sag/Aftra contract we were able to rehearse the cast for several days and then begin filming the piece - song by song, scene by scene. The purpose is simply to document the show and what it could be once blessed with a full blown production. While remaining within the very limited budget allowed by the contract we were nevertheless able to produce an amazing, fully fleshed out "video demo" of sorts that gives a clear view of the heart and soul of the project and its enormous potential.
We're so very excited to finally share FIVE WOMEN AT AN AIRPORT - A MUSICAL FILM. Check it out below or click to view on YouTube.

As a songwriter I've been blessed to work with so many amazing sound engineers, mixers and editors through the years. This project had its own set of difficulties. Let's face it. Recording five women live in a small theater to my prerecorded tracks is not an ideal situation. But I couldn't be more thrilled with how it came out and that's all due to the incredible sound designer Peter Brucker and his brilliant assistant Dylan Franz. Dylan worked tirelessly editing between different takes and performances, mixing, mastering and lining things up with great help from David Goldsmith and video editor Robbie Tann. They treated our score with so much love and respect. So to them, our phenomenal cast and the entire crew - I send my profound gratitude. I'm overwhelmed by your talents and generosity.
